Our Wines

The Righteous Dozen

There was a time that if you bought a dozen bottles at cellar door, the bloke behind the tasting bar would chuck in an extra bottle gratis (as long as you promised not to tell the boss)…a personal favourite, maybe a new release or a yet to be released wine. We’ve always loved that generous tradition and we’re bringing it back with our Righteous Dozen! Included in your Righteous Dozen are 2 bottles of 6 specially chosen wines…all 90+ point rated wines, some new releases and the occasional re-release or yet to be released. You’ll get your 20% Society discount…and then here’s the good bit…in each Righteous Dozen we’ll toss in a 13th bottle with our compliments. How righteous is that!?

Our current selection is a cracker…and includes the following

  • 2 bottles of Albert Shiraz 2014 – 95 points, The Wine Front
  • 2 bottles of Big Jim Shiraz 2015 – *New vintage release last release 96 points, James Halliday
  • 2 bottles of The Dog Strangler Mataro 2014  – 91+ points, Wine Advocate
  • 2 bottles of Riebke Grenache 2014 – 92 points, The Wine Front
  • 2 bottles of Wark Family Shiraz 2015 – 93 points, Huon Hooke
  • 2 bottles of Woodside Sauvignon Blanc 2015 – 92 points, James Halliday

And with our compliments, we’ll throw in a bottle of the our legendary MC Sparkling Shiraz 2010 for you to try – a drink we designed with bacon in mind!

The full retail value of the dozen is $553, but as Righteous Society member we only hit you up for $390.00 including your Righteous Society discount…allowing you to keep over $150 in your pocket…or maybe to buy around 8kg of Australia’s finest bacon the next time you’re in the Barossa? That would be exceptionally righteous!

ALBERT SHIRAZ 2014

100% Shiraz from two of our oldest vineyards….the 130 year old Riebke ‘Old’ block at Ebenezer and the 70 year old Fromm vineyard at Williamstown. With roots deep in the dry Barossa soils, these old vines produce wines of intense concentrated flavour, but remarkable softness

BIG JIM SHIRAZ 2015

From the very best of the Wark Family’s Shiraz vineyard at Stonewell, a classic Barossa Valley Shiraz. Inky black in colour, packed with black fruits and built to last.

WARK FAMILY SHIRAZ 2015

With the Wark Family Shiraz in your glass, you’ve got a wine from a single vineyard in one of the best sub districts in the Valley, planted by the family’s own hand and made by the crew at Teusner –  a wine black in colour, brimming with plums, dark fruits, warm spices and ripe tannins.

THE DOG STRANGLER MATARO 2014

Select parcels of old vine Mataro have been sourced from all over the Barossa…from Vine Vale, Greenock, Moppa and Ebenezer…all vinified separately to produce a wine that is complex and a pleasure to drink.

RIEBKE GRENACHE 2014

A light to medium bodied wine, generous frontal explosion of ripe light berried fruits carried by soft subtle tannins across the palate. From the same family that supplies us with Shiraz for the Riebke Shiraz.

WOODSIDE SAUVIGNON BLANC 2015

This wine has got it all for Sauvignon Blanc lovers…plenty of tropical fruit on the nose and heaps of mouthwatering, energetic acidity to freshen up a palate full of ripping fresh tropical fruits.

MC SPARKLING SHIRAZ 2010 (With our compliments)

Built for Bacon’…..that could well apply to most of the staff here at Teusner Wines but we believe that Sparkling Shiraz came into being as early man began to ponder the age old question.. “What to drink with breakfast”.
