The Independent Shiraz Mataro 2010
We’ve done it again!....Not satisfied with picking up the “Best Value Red Wine” in the Good Wine Guide and the Cooperages 1912 Trophy at the 2010 Barossa Wine Show for our 2009 Teusner Independent Shiraz Mataro, we’ve just picked up the same trophy in this year’s Barossa Wine Show for our 2010 release. Here’s to Independence!
in·de·pen·dent : adj.
1. Not governed by a foreign power; self-governing.
2. Free from the influence, guidance, or control of another or others;
self-reliant: an independent mind.
3. Not determined or influenced by someone or something else;
not contingent: a decision independent of the outcome of the study.
4. Often Independent Affiliated with or loyal to no one political party
or organization.
5. Not dependent on or affiliated with a larger or controlling entity:
an independent food store; an independent film.
We here at Teusner have always followed our own path....our only guides being the quality of the old vine fruit we are lucky enough to receive from our growers and the style of wine we like to drink ourselves.
We’ve been humbled by the reception our wines have received and have decided to release a wine to thank those people whose support and belief in what we do as been instrumental in getting Teusner to where we are today.
Last year, the Teusner Independent Shiraz Mataro cleaned up at the 2010
Barossa Wine Show with a Top Gold and a Trophy, and picked up the
gong for the “Best Value Red Wine” in Nick Stock’s Good Wine Guide and
we reckon the 2010 model might just give it a run for the title!
As Kym says “The irony of independence – you rarely achieve it standing
alone”.
Thanks for the support and enjoy the wine!
