We here at Teusner have always followed our own path....our only guides being the quality of the old vine fruit we are lucky enough to receive from our growers and the style of wine we like to drink ourselves.

We’ve been humbled by the reception our wines have received and have decided to release a wine to thank those people whose support and belief in what we do as been instrumental in getting Teusner to where we are today.

The 2008 Teusner “The Indepenent” Shiraz Mataro is that wine.....sourced from low yielding, ancient vines in the Northern Barossa – Ebenezer, Kalimna and Moppa. As always the winemaking is hands off and we let the fruit tell its own story. The result is a brooding, complex wine that sings of the earth from where it came and the toil of our growers that tend the vines....two things that we at Teusner are very proud of.

As Kym says “The irony of independence – you rarely achieve it standing alone”. Thanks for the support and enjoy the wine!
